Head to the contact form and select your session type. I shoot moody and cinematically for portrait, couples, engagement, and lifestyle sessions. I love when my work follows a main character and storyline, like you're in your own little movie, rather than a highly stylized and random session. I think that this gives the opportunity for your individual personalities to really shine through and for the viewer to become more emotionally and thoughtfully interested and connected to the art.
After you send your inquiry, a brief questionnaire will be sent to your inbox. Please fill it out so I can learn all about you, your personality, your style and vibe, and what you hope to gain from our time together. This will help me determine whether we are a good fit, and also where everything that is included in your price will be laid out for you.
At this stage, we will discuss the details of your session a little further. This gives us a chance for both of us to know exactly who we are working with, and talk about things like location preference, time of day, and the goal you'd like accomplished through your photos. This is your chance to ask any questions that you need answered, including questions regarding what is included in your price, extra hour fees, travel and stay, etc.
If you decide you would like to move forward with booking, I will send over your contract at this stage. A 20% non-refundable deposit is always required to hold your date and time. Travel and stay is not included, so we will discuss that thoroughly together if applicable.
One of my favorite parts of planning a photoshoot is scouting for a perfect location. If you want to book a session with me, but aren't sure where you'd like to do so, tell me! I'll ask you more about what sort of style you'd like to emulate, mood you'd like to reflect or story you'd like to tell through your photos. We'll then create your shoot's mood board together, like the ones shown below, and from there I can help you find the best possible location.
I have come up with a list of some of my favorite locations around Chicago, and I am always adding to it! Feel free to ask me what sort of random places I have pinned.
At this stage, I will put together a creative direction board, which will list out all the shots that will be taken and how the camera will follow your character(s) through it's own little movie. The board will also include location, wardrobe, all kinds of inspo photos, and maybe even some mood music!
